i want!
RJ was so amazed with Kaos. Me too! The story, the singing and especially the acrobats and magical illusions -a must see!
RJ had his picture taken with the white tiger, for 600 pesos, after the show. While waiting for the picture to get printed, which took almost an hour, he asked me if I can buy the lion stuffed toy for him. The big one costs 888 and the small one is 488. Very expensive, so I said no.
But later on, we found out that the toys are on-sale. So yes, the Mama gave in to another "I want" moment!
can't eat without this
My son loves pizza and pasta. But he won't dare eat these yummy food without sprinkling dried oregano. Even his most favorite mac and cheese gets a dose of this herb. Oregano is beneficial to one's health so I let him have as much as he wants. This bottle of oregano never leaves our dining table.
Oregano is a very good source of fiber. Fiber works in the body to bind to bile salts and cancer-causing toxins in the colon and remove them from the body. This forces the body to break down cholesterol to make more bile salts. These are just some of the reasons that diets high in fiber have been shown to lower high cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of colon cancer. ~whfoods.com
helpful boy
I'm bored!
That's RJ's favorite line everytime he wants to play his handheld games. Just because it's his summer vacation already doesn't mean that he's allowed to play his DSi and PSP Go everyday. As soon as he woke up yesterday... "I'm bored, Mama."
"Just help me fix the bed." I was so surprised when he did it right away without any violent reaction. He just nodded his head and started folding things. His violent reaction by the way is saying WHAT?! a little louder than his normal speaking voice. More than that, he'll get a whack on the butt!
I was so surprised I wasn't able to speak right away. But not that surprised to take a picture of my helpful boy!

This Disney show is one of RJ's favorite. Mine too! I'm talking about Phineas and Ferb.
We usually watch this during weekends because it's scheduled at around 9am during school days. Since RJ's off from school, his summer vacation officially started last week, we now regularly watch it everyday while eating breakfast.
Not familiar with the show?
Phineas and Ferb is an American animated television comedy series. Originally broadcast as a preview on August 17, 2007 on Disney Channel, the series follows two kindhearted suburban stepbrothers on summer vacation. Each day the boys embark on some grand new project, which annoys their controlling sister, Candace, who tries to bust them. The series follows a standard plot system; running gags occur every episode, and the B-Plot almost always features Perry the Platypus ("Agent P"), acting as a secret agent to fight an evil scientist named Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz. The two plots intersect at the end to erase all traces of the boys' project just before Candace can show it to their mother. This usually leaves Candace very frustrated. ~Wikipedia

I was hangin' on, literally, for dear life for 30 minutes. My knuckles were so white from gripping the overhead handle bar of the taxi that we're riding on. I dare not gasp everytime the taxi swerves or tries to overtake another vehicle for fear that the driver might drive more recklessly. I was ashen-faced, very dizzy and was trying hard not to vomit on the pavement by the time we reached my sister's house.

I already notice his reckless driving right from the start of our trip. I even told him that my son is getting dizzy already. He just nods his head and continued driving very fast. Manila taxi drivers doesn't even care for the lives of their passengers. MMDA should replace them with women drivers just like what they're doing with bus drivers.
I hope we don't have this experience during our summer trips. Because no matter how nice the place that we're staying on is, it won't be so nice at all if I get so stressed out.

trick art, mirror maze and 3D movie date
This is our fun weekend pictures when we visited Seriland.
Seriland, the land of happy thoughts, is a Korean theme park attraction located at the second floor of Manila Ocean Park. RJ had so much fun in the Trick Art Musem. You can see me in the picture collage pointing at a treasure map. The treasure map is actually a 3D painting on the wall that gives an illusion of the object being real. The trick art museum is a room full of 3D art that kids and kids at heart will enjoy. Other fun-filled facilities are the Mirror Maze, the 3D Cinema Plus and the Kid’s Paradise with multi-colored toys and other playthings (which we didn't include in our package because my son said it's a place for babies).
achy breaky back
RJ has been complaining of back pains. I think it has something to do with our 7 year old orthopedic mattress . There are certain parts on the mattress that's very uncomfortable to lie down on. He does tend to roll all over the bed when asleep and most of the time settle on the uncomfortable side. He only notices the pain on his back the next day.

The tutor, me - the mom, and the tutee, RJ - the son, are both stressed out and harassed from Monday until the remainder of the week. This week is RJ's last week of school. We're supposed to be rejoicing right? Not yet because the last quarterly exams are scheduled this week also.
I'll save my YAAY for this Saturday.
Do you have anything H to share?
final's week!
I have been neglecting my so-called online career for a few days already. I have to help my son study for his final exams this week. I almost lost my cool, umm -I think I actually did, when he pretended he forgot how to add and subtract dissimilar fractions!

Based on my experience, I used to tutor when RJ was still in pre-school, it's much easier to teach other people's kids. It's VERY hard to tutor one's own child.
I've decided to get a tutor for him next school year. I don't want to have a nervous breakdown because he's too lazy to study.
rolled into one
For the past few weeks, RJ has been eating nothing but bacon for lunch. Although I buy lean bacon, it's still processed meat. So I decided to make bacon rolls for his lunch meal.
My sister usually puts asparagus when making bacon roll. But I'm pretty sure RJ won't eat it once he sees the green asparagus inside the roll. Carrots and cheese doesn't make him say "yuck!", so that's what I decided to put in the bacon roll.
Look at the rolls. Don't they look yum? Any suggestions on what healthy veggie should I put in the roll next time?
getting taller every day
RJ has been complaining of ankle pains since he was 4 years old. It just happens once in a blue moon at that time, no pain the next day, so I thought it was just muscle pain. Last year, his ankle pain complains became almost a nightly ritual. I'm not a worry-wart mom for nothing.
The doctor looked at rj's ankle, touched it a few times and said, "growth spurts". I paid for an expensive xray and doctor's fee for nothing. I also have to pay for a physical therapist to teach some exercises, that can be searched online, which RJ can do to alleviate the pain. That price that I need to pay for my peace of mind!
Doctors and other medical professionals should make a facebook page that says "Hooray for worry wart moms. They make us rich!".
