It's never too early to start teaching your child to be a millionaire. If you don't know how, let Warren Buffett himself show you how to do it right.
An animated character of Buffett is to tutor children about the art of finance in a series called The Secret Millionaires Club, to be created by the internet empire AOL and media production firm A Squared Media. Episodes lasting three to five minutes will initially appear on AOL, before being distributed more broadly across the web via social networking sites. source: guardian.co.uk

who doesn't love oreo?

Oreo is my son's all time favorite snack. For his mid-afternoon and midnight snack, he only need oreo cookies. Eating oreos alone will never be complete without milk right?

oreo, milk, low-fat milk

He's a thin boy but he likes low-fat milk. He doesn't lick and dunk the oreo. What he does is soak the oreo in milk.

Who doesn't love oreo and milk? How do you eat your oreo?

have you been to this place?

If you haven't yet, you are missing half of your life. Kissimmee, the Heart of Florida, is a charming, distinctive area that’s part of one of the world’s most popular vacation destinations. Whether you plan for non-stop excitement every day or prefer nothing more than a gentle breeze, Kissimmee in Central Florida is the perfect place to spend your next vacation.

So many of Central Florida's attraction are a short drive away from Kissimmee.

Kids and kids at heart will definitely enjoy visiting the Kennedy Space Center. It is home to much of the activity that promises a new era of space exploration. Who would not enjoy getting up close and personal with the actual rockets, space capsules, and other equipment that have made space exploration possible?

Would love to surprise my son with a prehistoric birthday party at Dinosaur World. He doesn't have to wait, until he's old enough, to make his dream of becoming a paleontologist come true. Children age 3-12 can sift through sand in search of 10 types of authentic fossils (shark teeth to sea urchins, dinosaur bone fragments and more) and may keep 3 fossils as a memento of their trip.

Stressed? It will all disappear when you feel the cool breeze gently caressing your skin, when you feel the sand between your toes while the waves lap at your feet. Just an hour’s drive from Kissimmee are the east coast beaches of the Atlantic Ocean, the ideal setting for lounging, surfing or deep sea fishing. To the west, the Gulf Coast is about a 90-minute drive from Kissimmee, offering sprawling beaches and blue waters where colorful shells arrive with every splash of the surf.

A Kissimmee Florida vacation won't be complete without a theme park visit. Whichever park you select, you've made the perfect choice. You'll love the fantasy of Walt Disney World Resorts' Magic Kingdom Park, the innovations and world-culture of Epcot, the animal encounters of Disney's Animal Kingdom, or the movie immersion at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Plus a visit of course at Universal Studios and Sea World is a must.

Can't wait to visit Florida again. This time it will be more memorable because I will be enjoying the vacation with my son.

yes, it's this friday

...RJ will get his report card.

I'm sure he won't have a failing grade. I hope I'm right. I don't want to spend 2 months of taking him to remedial classes instead of doing what I already planned for this summer vacation.

Will post his report card when I get it on friday.

this is just a suggestion, take it or leave it

Have you already made plans on what to do this spring? I have a suggestion. Weather you enjoy relaxing while taking in the scenery, the thrill of a great game, or endless shopping, dining and theaters, Branson is the place to go this spring. And there’s no better place to stay in Branson than the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing and the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel. Situated within the electrifying entertainment capital of the Midwest, the Hiltons of Branson offer guests access to shops, boutiques, restaurants, a river walk and other attractions.

This is just a suggestion. But if I we're you, I will consider taking a trip to Branson. Why? Branson has ongoing events like the 14th annual Branson Tri-Lakes Building and Home Show, NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball Tournament, Branson’s Best Boat and Recreation Show, Silver Dollar City’s Family Spring Break Day and the memorable Young Christian’s Weekend; not to mention a series of amazing concerts on the Branson Landing including shows from 65 South, Colgate Country Showdown with KHOZ 102.9, EXILE, The Nashvegas All Stars, and David Letterman Stupid Human & Pet Trick Auditions!

Since my son loves to swim, we can spend a few hours in the pool area. The indoor pool is complete with hot tub and there is also an outdoor pool. My son can perfect his swim stokes in the pool while I on the other hand can catch up on my reading. What a perfect way to relax before touring the new Branson Landing retail and entertainment district situated on Lake Taneycomo. A must visit also is the Payne Stewart Golf Course. Only 3 miles from the hotel, my son can perfect his golf swing and enjoy the view of an 18 holes of golf while walking in the footsteps of the great Payne Stewart.

The perfect way to relax after a long day at the Convention Center or after touring many of Branson, Missouri's attractions is a delectable dining experience at Trofi restaurant. The restaurant offers Mediterranean style cuisine and a view of Branson Landing.

A great night's sleep on Hilton's Serenity Bed package sounds relaxing. Room amenities include spacious workstations with granite counter tops and ergonomic desk chairs, 32-inch LCD flat panel televisions, the Hilton clock radio with MP3 adapter, two dual-line phones, wired and wireless high-speed Internet access and much more.

Are you not convinced yet that you will have a blast if you spend spring break at Branson?

Katherine Heigl is making the right choice

katherine heigl, grey's anatomy, entertainment weekly

One of my favorite show to watch, when I have time, is Grey's Anatomy. I will surely miss Izzie Stevens, but she is making the sacrifice "to spend more time with her newly-adopted daughter Naleigh".

"I know I'm disappointing the fans," she told Entertainment Weekly's Michael Aussiello, "I just had to make a choice. I hope I made the right one."

You are making the right one Izzie...Katherine.

My son will definitely vote for Alvin and his brothers. Not me! I loooove the Chipettes. Who doesn't love the Chipettes? Even Alvin, Simone and Theodore, without a doubt, will vote for the Chipettes. Brittany, Jeannette and Eleanore are so adorable, aren't they?

To all "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel" fans, I have good news for you. You can already watch the movie, in the comfort of your own home, as often as you want. "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel" movie is now available on DVD! This is also good news to people who missed the movie.
Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel (Two-Disc Special Edition)

You want to buy it now? You really, really want to now? Be patient. Mark your calendar people! On the 30th of this month, "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel" will be available on DVD, Blu-ray and Digital Download. And there's more, the Double DVD Pack will also include "The Squeak Along" Bonus Disc. This bonus disc has more music, mayhem and all-new singalongs!
But if you really want to buy it now, you can pre-order your copies. Just go to http://www.munkyourself.com/ and click the pre-order button. While you're there, don't forget to 'munk' yourself! Your kids will definitely enjoy hearing your "munked" voice! And do let them 'munk' themselves also.

geni.com, family tree, connect with family
My father is an Ilocano and my mother is a Bicolana. When asked how they met each other, my father's version is: "I climbed the highest coconut tree in our town and spotted a beautiful lady in Bicol." They build a family in Bicol, making me and my sisters 99% Bicolana and 1% Ilocano.

Why 99% Bicolana and 1% Ilocano? First of all, we use the Bicol dialect and we don't know a single Ilocano word. The only relatives that we know on my father's side of the family are his siblings (and their respective families).

Lately though, we are getting acquainted with our Ilocano relatives. Thanks to Facebook and Geni. Everybody knows what facebook is. Geni on the other hand is new.

" Geni enables families to connect, share, and preserve their lives.

Users can build their family tree through our fun simple interface. Relatives who are added to the tree can join Geni and add other relatives. This makes it easy to grow your tree.

Everyone in the tree has a profile which shows more about them and enables other family members to stay in touch with them. Families can work together to build profiles for common ancestors.

Family members can also share photos, videos, events, discussions, and more. A family timeline shows the history of everyone in the family.

Geni is private. Only the people in your family tree can log in to your tree and your profile. Geni will not share your personal information with third parties. We will not sell your email address or spam you. Users control which communications they would like to receive from us.

Geni was founded by former executives and early employees of PayPal, eGroups, eBay, and Tribe, and is backed by venture capital firms Founders Fund and Charles River Ventures."

This article, from Yahoo Finance, "How Privacy Vanishes Online" is alarming.

"If a stranger came up to you on the street, would you give him your name, Social Security number and e-mail address?"

My answer is NO. We even advice our kids "don't talk to strangers". But a lot of us tend to give personal information on our blogs and on social networking sites like facebook to people we barely know

"You may not disclose personal information, but your online friends and colleagues may do it for you, referring to your school or employer, gender, location and interests. Patterns of social communication, researchers say, are revealing."

So very true. Hmmm. Should I delete my facebook account?

Should I resign from blogging?

20/20 forever

This blue eyeglasses look so cute. But not when I imagine RJ, my 8 year old son, wearing it. He is very addicted with online games as well as with his handheld game consoles right now. I am very concerned that he will have poor eyesight before even graduating from grade school.

I am already in my early 30's but my vision is still 20/20. If it's not impossible, I want it to stay that way forever. When I was my son's age, there we're still no handheld video games invented at that time. These gadgets bring so much stress to one's eyes.

Summer break has officially started last week. These past two weeks, my son has been very busy. Busy with online and handheld games. I ask him everyday, sometimes force him, to practice his soccer kicks and basketball dribbling. He obeys for a few minutes and goes back to his games.

I already have a plan to lure him away from the gadgets that are slowly destroying his eyes. Sports and art classes, but these classes will start after the Holy Week. Until then, I just have to find ways to steer him away from the computer and his handheld game.

Do you have any suggestions?

My son gave me this award for "doing hard work for him, helping him in his homework, cooking food for him and buying toys and gift for him." How sweet.

His friend gave him the award. I wonder what his friend's mom will say, she didn't receive the outstanding award from her son.

who likes a dirty car?

07 March 2010

My Aunt B recently bought a new car who we fondly call Inno (ay-no). Why did we give a name to her car? Because she loves that car so much, she doesn't want to see a single dirt inside and outside that car -- I mean she doesn't want Inno dirty. She wants her car to be clean and dirt-free at all times. That's aside from the fact that the car is very expensive.

Uncle M, her brother, even removed his shoes the first time he rode in the car. Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you, my Uncle M took of his shoes! I am not exaggerating people, you don't know my Aunt B. When she sets her mind into something, she will make sure her instructions gets followed--or else!

Who wants a dirty car anyway? I myself does not want to ride in a dirty car. But a squeaky-clean car, hmmm? I do ride once in a while, but without my Aunt B travelling with me. For me to clean up my mess before she makes her inspection.

Her birthday is only a few weeks away. I now know what present I should buy for her. A few sets of car floor mats for Inno.

What she needs is one with quality that is unlike any other car mat. Maybe I should just have one customized. I can have one designed that protect against rain and spills while giving ultra-comfy softness and luxury. I can even choose one that has high-extruded material that doesn't alter shape or curl during extreme temperatures, unlike most factory car mats. I even saw one that traps liquids and spills stay in their place. That will allow the driver to keep driving without getting distracted because my aunt is panicking.

I hope my birthday gift will give her peace of mind that her beloved Inno will be clean all the time.
