Mommy Moments #2

When RJ was still in preschool, he was into collecting dinosaur toys. Name a dinosaur and he has it. He also has a vast collection of dinosaur books. That's the time when he loves telling people, "I want to be a paleontologist someday".

For him, eating out is synonymous to Happy Meal or Kids Meal. He likes collecting toys from Jollibee and McDonald's. But he doesn't get his way most of the time.

His all-time favorite -- legos. No matter how expensive, I will buy him more legos if he wants it. He's a very creative and imaginative boy and the creation he makes with his legos are so amazing!

He loves using his toys as "models" too.

Gadgets? He doesn't want to play his Nintendo DSi anymore. He doesn't have a cellular phone either. I do allow him to use my laptop once in a while. But once he starts using it, he doesn't want to turn it off anymore.

when should you teach your child to pray?

The Holy Rosary

If you haven't done it yet, the right time to teach your child to pray is -- NOW. One very important responsibility of parents, to their children, is teaching the importance of prayer. No matter what one's religion is, prayer should be inculcated at an early age.

I started praying with my son when he can't even talk yet. When he was still in my womb, I'm sure he can hear my prayers. Babies and toddlers can remember a lot, their memory starts to develop even before they are born. I taught him The Lord's Prayer at the same time he was learning his ABC and 123.

Last year, my son already know how to lead the praying of the Rosary.

My son asked me last night to download a program similar to MS Paint. His art teacher has one installed on her computer.

Open Source Drawing Software for Children
Tux Paint is a free, award-winning drawing program for children ages 3 to 12 (for example, preschool and K-6). It combines an easy-to-use interface, fun sound effects, and an encouraging cartoon mascot who guides children as they use the program.

Kids are presented with a blank canvas and a variety of drawing tools to help them be creative.

I was wrong. It was RJ's canine tooth, not incisor, that got broken.

I am heartbroken.

RJ accidentally broke his left incisor tooth, which incidentally unfortunately is a permanent tooth already. The not-a-baby-tooth-anymore tooth! Just looking at this picture makes me want to cry!

broken incisor tooth

And it's all because of a rainbow lollipop! I seldom buy him candies and his first rainbow lollipop caused him an early false tooth!
All of his baby teeth, that got replaced with permanent teeth, were all pulled out by Dr. RJ. It was okay with me then because those were wiggling already before he pulled them out. He wasn't comfortable with a wiggly tooth in his mouth. This permanent-tooth-accident is another story.
