How to “smoothly” review for exams

This post is intended for mommies who, most often than not, loose their cool when helping their kids review for school exams. That happens especially when the child doesn’t want to review and is dilly-dallying instead of focusing on studying. That and cramming equals STRESS!

stress-free study time = mommy who doesn’t look like a dragon

I hate cramming, not just with studying for exams but anything that involves last-minute anything, because I don’t want to stress myself. When I’m stressed, I usually can’t breath well. Not a good feeling so as much as possible I avoid getting stressed.

So how do I help my son study without any stress at all? We start studying a week before the exams. That way, I also get to identify where he’s already good at and where he needs to allot more time reviewing.

Do you have some tips on how to help your child review for school exams with less stress?

Shrek Forever After

We were supposed to watch Ironman and try out Winema last Thursday. But as soon as my son's eyes made contact with "Shrek" in the movie list, I found myself saying "2 tickets for Shrek, please" to the cashier.

Yes, one will indeed learn something valuable at the end of the movie. But overall, this fourth film in the franchise, will not get my blockbuster-seal-of-approval. I was expecting a lot more, especially since this is the last Shrek film.

The "funny moments" in the movie were not that funny anymore. Why? All were already shown in the trailer.

I hope they change their mind and make another film in the franchise. I love all previous Shrek movies and this last one definitely disappointed me so much.

Night at the Museum 2

We watched Night at the Museum 2 yesterday afternoon. The movie is funny and informative as well. My son was laughing hard the whole time, good thing the people around us didn't mind (because they were laughing so hard also).

I didn't like the love story part though, it might confuse the kids. Amelia Earhart, the first person to fly solo across the Pacific, fell in love with Larry Daley, played by Ben Stiller, the main character in the movie.

Do watch the movie, you will laugh to your hearts content. Bring your kids, they will surely enjoy it too.
