study time!

25 February 2011

What would you do if your child suddenly loses interest in studying? How will you deal with it? Or have you been in that situation in the past? How did you solve the problem? How did you help your child?

study time

I do try to be patient and understanding (tries real hard to conjure every single good trait a mom should have) whenever he says, "I don't want to study Mama". But when I've tried all tricks up my sleeve and he still becomes more adamant to not study, by himself, I then study with him. He doesn't want that because I tend to ask questions not covered by the book and I advance him to the next lesson.

He'll be in 4th grade next year, hopefully he'll be more diligent in studying by himself. I don't want to tutor him for like forever. What about you? Does your child likes to study?

My daughter is 3 years old and i starting to teach basic like alphabet, shapes and number but its really hard for me to teach her she likes more to play, sigh!

That phase seems to be normal among kids his age (and among boys, too!) Maybe he's not into the usual study routine; you could try reviewing him through a game, perhaps.

it sure would pose some major problems when the little ones behaved this way, as mums like us are conditioned to follow our children's lead + to not force them to do anything. oh well, i do hope you find creative ways to coerce your little one to study without him knowing it. + be sure to share the trick with us, right? ;)

I feel the same with Lucas, he is so lazy! He doesn't want to study at home because he says it's not school, LOL :)) I swear sometimes I feel like pulling my hair out.. :P He knows the alphabet and how to count (he's 4 btw) but when I ask him to do it, he won't do it in order, it's frustrating!

I'm just hoping he'll get over it and learn how to love studying as the time goes by.. :P

my kids rarely study whenever they are at home. when I ask them to open their books and read, all three of them would answer in unison "nakikinig kami ke teacher, mommy :) " and show-off that silly grin.

Wow! Letting kids study can be a real challenge. I hope we will not have a problem with Dindin when she starts school. :D
