My son has allergic rhinitis. It gets aggrevated when he gets exposed to dust or a dusty environment. But because of technological advancement, more and more things that can make people's lives easier are getting invented each day. Gone are the days when we still have to rack our brains how to install a security camera, there are now brands that offer wireless security cameras.

And people suffering from allergies need not worry about dust from electric fans anymore because bladeless fans are now available in the market. Since its fairly new, it is still very expensive. I first saw it on a deal site, still hard on the pocket even when it's already on sale. Maybe when the hype about it has subsided, it will be more affordable.

I usually do blog post drafts on my cellular phone's Quick Office application. I noticed that everything loads pretty slow, even opening a text message, after only a year of using the phone. I guess cellular phones, no matter how big the storage capacity is, can only accommodate a few installed applications and games.

I decided to buy an iPod touch 4G so I can still write blog posts even when I'm out of the house. I have to look for a good document management system. I need one that has the capability to store and organize documents. So far, I'm happy with my choice to buy an iPod touch. Loading time is excellent. It's even much lighter than my cellular phone, very easy to carry anywhere I go.

We bought our 21-inch television 8 years ago. Since we live in a condominium, the bulky tv is taking up too much space in our small living room area. A flat screen LCD  television is on top of my to-buy list the next time I go shopping. I’m planning to have it wall mounted to maximize our small living room space.

I’m not exactly a handy-man type of girl so I’m not familiar with television wall mounts. While researching online, I saw some pictures of wall mounts and that made me decide that I want one that can pivot, tilt and pitch.

I can’t wait to say bye bye to our old TV. Maybe in a month or two. I have to save up for that dream television starting right about now.

I only have Microsoft Paint installed on my netbook when I started blogging two years back. I noticed that editing with Paint takes up most of my time, because it only has limited tools, so I decided to look for a more advanced photo editing software.

I found a FREE software called Photoscape. It’s what I use until now to create and edit images that I publish on all of my blogs.

Kids will have fun using this very easy to use software. My son likes downloading images of his favorite cartoon characters. He use Photoscape to edit and combine the photos.

I use cable internet, not because I want to, I just didn't have a choice. All other internet services, available in our area, has weak signal. Not a day passes by without me wanting to sue my internet provider. What angers me the most is that they don't refund payments for days when there's no internet connection. But relying in the justice system here is a waste of time and money. And that's another story that I have to rant about one of these days.

Thank God for dear-old indoor tv antennas. I don't have problems with my television viewing. And the fun part is, it's for FREE!

do you know what a vacheval is?

Shot in 1963, this is previously unseen report footage from Belgique Television. Up until recently, it has previously gone unseen. It tells the story of a strange animal called a Vacheval. Vache is french for “Cow”. Cheval is french for “Horse”. The Vacheval, which was reared on a farm just outside Leuven in Belgium, is a cross between a horse and a cow in an attempt to create CO2 reducing transport system.

It looks like a small horse with two horns on its head (somewhat like a unicorn) with a body that looks more like a cow. It is very popular today with UK environmentalists due to its CO2 reducing transportation and that it could be the answer to future environmental issues facing man-kind.


Alain du Monde, an eco extraordinaire who worked for Belgique Television at that time, recalls the Vacheval; “The Vacheval were magnifique, they were not only eco but they were chic too, those behind the Vacheval were clearly visionary in recognising the future environmental issues facing man-kind” he says.
 
These animals were treated with respect, being educated and groomed before the animal rights activists got involved.

Although the Vacheval proved to be very useful to our environment, no one knows whether they actually exist today. There are rumours they all now live on a special retreat in the Alps, whilst some say they fled Europe in search of work. I started investing in mutual funds a few years back. I even encouraged my sisters to invest also. They gave in, after hours of my non-stop talking about investing, stocks, etc. Then I got curious with "playing the market" on my own, I opened an online stock account.

This month, I opened another stock account with another online stockbroker. I became excited because the market is now recovering. I asked the agent to make it an ITF (in trust for) account for my son. They delivered the application form and after 5 months (I got so busy with other things, like umm blogging) I called and asked their messenger to pick up the signed forms.

We opened a joint account by the way, because ITF is not available withthe said online stockbrokerage firm.

My father is an Ilocano and my mother is a Bicolana. When asked how they met each other, my father's version is: "I climbed the highest coconut tree in our town and spotted a beautiful lady in Bicol." They build a family in Bicol, making me and my sisters 99% Bicolana and 1% Ilocano.

Why 99% Bicolana and 1% Ilocano? First of all, we use the Bicol dialect and we don't know a single Ilocano word. The only relatives that we know on my father's side of the family are his siblings (and their respective families).

do you love to sing?

My son's other favorite pastime, next to playing videogames, is singing. Isn't it obvious on the picture? After dinner every night the next thing he does is turn on his MP3 player. He loves listening to his favorite songs. It doesn't fail to put a smile on my face when I hear him singing his heart out.

I have already noticed when he was just a toddler than he can carry a tune. Most people can't even sing a simple do-re-mi. Yet, him at one year old, can sing Barney's I Love You song without a note off.

I even enrolled him in a singing class when he was 2 years old, paid for the enrollment fee in full, but he didn't finish it. Not because he's not interested in singing anymore. He was with bigger kids at first and he enjoyed it so much. When the teacher transferred him in a class with kids his own age, he doesn't want to participate anymore. Funny but true.

There's still lots of space in his MP3 player. I don't have time at the moment to add new songs in his MP3 list. I always make it a point to look for age appropriate songs on virus-free MP3 Search Engine. When I do find the time, I will also clean up the list and remove the songs that we both don't like listening to.

after school, what does your child do?

He is into High School Musical songs these days. We don't have cable television and we usually arrive in the house at around 7pm already. So, after dinner he just turn on the iPod and listen to HSM songs. Well, some days The Beatles songs.

Yes, his other fave is The Beatles.
