RJ's birthday is next week, Thursday - 22nd of June. He's turning 9, he's not a baby anymore *sniff*. He wants to invite some friends to watch Toy Story 3 this weekend. Hopefully he'll just invite a few friends, a 3D movie plus popcorn and soda is not that cheap.

Here's a preview of what will be shown starting tomorrow.

are you ready for halloween?

Just had a fun afternoon today at our condominium building. My son, together with a lot of other kids, went trick or treating.

During one of the games, the party host asked the boys and girls to make two separate lines. As you can see, my not-so-shy son is in front of the line. Yup, that IS his costume. Scary, I know. And there's another one who looks exactly like him near the back of the line! During the balloon twisting show, the little boy beside him got scared so I asked him to take off his mask.

The balloon twister was so good. She made a monkey climbing a banana tree. She also made Nemo complete with bubbles, weeds and swimming in water.

Because the twisting of the balloons are so complicated and takes a long time to make, not all the kids were able to have twisted balloons as a souveneir. Last year, all the kids went home happy because everyone gets to have his/her own balloon.

And my son was complaining that only two games were played. More time was alotted for the balloon twisting.

Oh well, at least the kids enjoyed guessing what she was making.

When will you be having a halloween party at your place? Hope you enjoy it as much as we had a good time today.

Happy Halloween everyone!

Ben 10 Alien Force

My son likes Ben 10 Alien Force so much he chose it to be his 8th birthday theme. This is different from Ben 10, another cartoon series in Cartoon Network. In Ben 10 Alien Force, the character Ben is already 15-years old. In Ben 10, the main character is just 10 years old and he has different DNAliens.

Since this show is fairly new here, it is hard for me to find things with Ben 10 Alien Force that I need for the party. What I'm going to do is DYI everything from the invites to the giveaways.

I'm done with the invites already. I'm thinking of printed shirts for the giveaways. Still have to design it as well as the tarpaulin & standee. But I can't find a printer that accepts 30-40 shirts only for printing. Can anybody recommend one that doesn't charge so much?

golf party

My son was one of the lucky 150 kids, ages 7-13 years old, who was able to get a slot for a golf party this hot saturday afternoon. I was glad it was held at Urban Golf, an indoor venue .

The event was sponsored by Golf Distributors Association of the Philippines. Their main goal was to promote golf to potential junior golfers.

The kids were divided into 5 groups. Every hour, from 2 - 7pm, one group learned about the fundamentals of golf. 15 minutes was alotted on lectures about the parts of a golf club, rules to follow on the golf course using the 3-screen SimSurround simulator on the second floor of the venue. For the remaining 45 minutes, the kids were given a chance to try out the premium simulators on the ground floor.

The event was not boring --including the lectures--because it was incorporated in a children’s party with golf as the theme. McDonalds took care of the games, prizes and lootbags. Urban Golf and Mc Donalds took care of the meals. A beginner’s golf book was also given to the participants.
Everything was for FREE!!!
My son had a fun activity for a day and I did not shell out any cash at all (well, except for the gasoline of course).

Hope there'll be more free parties like this!
