homeschool?

Here I am again, confused whether to homeschool RJ or not. He’s a very smart boy but his report card last quarter made my heart sink when I saw it. His grades are better than more than half of his class but, still, it was way down below my expectation.

If I homeschool him, he’ll have more time for sports, art and music class. And we’ll also have time to travel. He’ll learn more things outside of the classroom than inside the classroom. And maybe we can stay in the province for good, pollution here in the city is very bad. We can stay in a different province every month or two. Maybe we can buy park models, we can bring our house anywhere we like.

Sounds fun!

But first things first. I have to decide first whether I have the patience to teach my son 24/7.

RJ's report card was given yesterday. I was very satisfied with all except his social studies grade. I will definitely call his teacher on Monday and schedule a meeting with her. This teacher is so unapproachable. A frown is always plastered on her face.

All his other grades are 90 and above. RJ excels in Social Studies so a grade of 85 is unbelievable. Even if she give me her ugliest frown, I will still demand to check how RJ got a very low grade.

RJ's grades for the second quarter was given last thursday, November 25. I was very amazed of how calm I was when I picked him up. Usually I'm very jittery, to the point of almost hyper ventillating, on "the day" report cards are scheduled to be given. I've actually been  a "stage mom" the day he was born.

My being calm, I think, has something to do with his high quizzes and test results. I was pretty confident that his grades will be better this quarter and I was right!
