Philippine Airlines for sale?

I mentioned on my previous post that my son needs to speak in front of his class. Amidst all the gruesome news, here’s one that’s interesting.

My son’s report, he researched and made this himself. He’s only required to share a news that has 4 - 5 sentences, so he made it as short as possible.

PAL for sale

Lucio Tan, head of Philippine Airlines or PAL, confirmed on Friday that he is selling PAL at the right price.

He acknowledged that he was talking to the heads of PLDT and San Miguel Corp.

He has not yet decided how much it would be sold.

PAL has 36 aircrafts and 5 of them are Boeing 747-400.

First out-of-country flight experience

My son’s first ever trip out of the country happened last Sunday. Riding an airplane is not new to him, he’s been in a lot of domestic flights - his first one was when he was 4-months old. But an airplane for international flights, which is bigger and has more seats than the domestic plane that he’s used to, amazed him.

 

We took a Cathay Pacific flight bound for Hong Kong at 6:30 early morning of November 13. Yes, you got it right - we went to Hong Kong Disneyland. 

 

 

He brought a new book with him, “Just in case I get bored during the 2-hour flight, Mama”, but he never read it during the flight because he was busy playing some games and watching cartoon shows on the audio and video entertainment available on board.

 

That’s my son’s first international flight. Will have more stories about our exciting first day.

long airport queue, i don't like

I was planning to spend Holy Week in the province. But the thought of going to the airport 3 hours before the flight, to avoid the long queue at the entrance and at the check-in counter, made me decide to just buy a ticket for this coming month. People in Manila are taking advantage of the weeklong celebration of Holy Week to go home, visit their families and relax in the province.

I learned my lesson when I went home during Christmas break. That's the first, and definitely the last time, that I'm going to book a flight during a holiday season. The flight was even delayed!

Hopefully we don't experience that on our flight in May. RJ is looking forward to one more month of fun before classes begin in June.

airline seat sale!

After the half-month vacation that he just had, RJ wants to have another one. Perhaps a beach vacation this time. The first thing I do each morning is go online and browse airline websites for available seat sale.

I've never been lucky in availing a good deal on these airline sale. All available seats on-sale sells like hotcakes! Maybe this time I'll get lucky. I just have to be diligent in checking the airline announcements daily.

delayed!

I am at NAIA 3 right now with my son. Our 1235 pm Cebu Pacific flight is delayed. Not just our flight, actually, other flights are also delayed. RJ ate a donut on the way to our gate but has not eaten lunch yet. My Aunt said Cebu Pacific doesn't have free snacks like other airlines.

This is my first time to fly via Cebu Pac and there won't be a next time. I've never experienced a delayed flight with any other airline before.

Very disappointed.

first time ever

We always use Philippine Airlines (PAL) in all our domestic travels. But because of the on-going problems of the airline with its employees, I was hesitant to book our flight with them for our trip to the province this Christmas break.

We're flying home via Cebu Pacific, for the first time, for the holidays. I hope I don't experince anything bad with them because I've nothing but praises for PAL customer service.
